Just when you thought that Tencent is already a household games brand in its native China and has already covered the whole country, the mega internet giant announced it is going to build a new headquarters in Sanya to oversee all gaming activities and businesses in the Hainan area. At a signing ceremony with Sanya government officials, Tencent claimed it is just natural to have a gaming headquarters there as the company already has other businesses in the city, including movies, sports, music, healthcare and many others. A project to build a 1.5 million USD “Hainan Tencent Ecology Village” is also in the works.
