This incident came after David Brevik, who gave the name “Diablo” to the popular franchise, held an interview (seen below) and talked about how some decisions in Diablo III are not fans wanted, and how they were not solved quicker among other things. These were all said rather candidly and spoke the minds of the franchise’s fans, but Jay Wilson apparently took it to heart a little too much.
Personally, I am disgusted by Blizzard Entertainment’s staff actions, and more appalled that Jay Wilson, leading the game production and development, could not control his emotions as the leader of the pack, but instead joined in the fun. David Brevik may have had a few failures, such as Hellgate: London, but his hand was forced back then by EA to release the game fast, unlike Jay Wilson who had 6 years of development time. Blind fans of the Diablo series, time to wake up.
